Vinea Marson is the name of the vineyard and wine label of Mario and Helen Marson and their daughters. Our portfolio of wines includes our Syrah, Viognier and Rosé and the Italian varieties, Sangiovese and Nebbiolo.
The Cellar Door at Vinea Marson is open by appointment. We welcome visitors to our vineyard where you can sample our range of wines. Vinea Marson, the name of our vineyard, derives from the Latin word for vineyard, Vinea, and our family name, from the province of Pordenone in Friuli Venezia Giulia in the north-east of Italy. In 1999, after an extensive search for a suitable site, Mario decided to establish a vineyard in the foothills of the Mount Camel Range, in Heathcote, central Victoria. His vintage experiences in Italy, informed his understanding of the Italian varieties; Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Barbera, which were planted at Vinea Marson in 2000 and 2001. Shiraz, for which the Heathcote region is most famous, was also planted. After observing the softening influence of Viognier on wines from the Cotê-Rotie, a small parcel of Viognier was also established.
