A European styled Heathcote Shiraz that was matured in French oak barriques for eighteen to twenty four months. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a bright dark purple hue. Pronounced aromas of liquorice and ripe blackberries fill the nostrils with following vanillin oak, scorched earth and spice notes. Medium weight the palate is lighter than expected and is a very elegant version of Heathcote Shiraz. It features flavours of blackberries and liquorice over vanillin oak, dried meats, spicy earth and pepper. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Concludes with an aftertaste of subtle blackberries, liquorice, spicy vanillin oak, earthy dried meats and light pepper.
